Lead shot. A small cast ball retaining a grey tint; a flattened circumferential belt and striations across it may, respectively represent set up and gas erosion, both distorting effects occurring at the instant of firing. A flattened patch at one end of diameter 5mm may show use of a ramrod. The mass may suggest this to have been fired from a light fowling piece or 'rook and rabbit' gun.
