A worn and clipped long-cross silver penny, possibly Edward III (1327-1377). Possibly Fourth coinage, pre-treaty period (1351-1361), Series Ga (1356-1361). Mint uncertain, could be Durham. The edges have been clipped. In consequence the initial mark and the king's name is missing on the obverse. The penny has Roman N reversely barred, wedge-tailed R and annulet stops on the obverse and annulet on breast. Similar to North 1991, p. 50, no.1150.

Obverse: [...]○R[E]X○ANGLI○; Crowned bust facing with a bifoliate crown. Annulet on breast.

Reverse: [CIV]I/TA[S]/[...]/[...]E; Long cross dividing the inscription with three pellets in each quadrant. Probably a crozier before CIVI.

Diameter: 16.77 mm. Weight: 0.94 g. DA=9.
