A complete and very worn Medieval silver penny of Edward III (1327-1377 AD), minted at Durham, Series C to Series E, 1351-1355 (North 1991: 50-51, refs: 1150, 1159 or 1170).

Obverse: EDWA[RDVS REX ANGLI]; Crowned bust facing with a bifoliate crown.

Reverse: [CI]VI/TAS/[DV]NE/Lm[IE] (crozier before CIVI is not visible due to wear); Long cross dividing the inscription with three pellets in each quadrant.

Diameter: 17.8mm. Weight: 0.88g. DA=12:11.
