A complete copper-alloy open Thimble or Sewing Ring of Medieval date (AD 1400-1500). The object is a circular open form and narrows towards the upper section, the outside of which has four horizontal lines of circular indentations formed by drilling, these are irregularly aligned with the top and bottom lines being slightly smaller. The inside is undecorated.
The metal is a dark brown in colour with a pitted patina.
