Three fragments of a copper-alloy enamelled vessel in shape of a cockerel. The pieces remaining are the lower part of the body, a large fragment of the upper body (wing) and the neck and head. The legs and feet are missing. The fragment of the upper body was the lid for the vessel, the hollow body of the cockerel (the lower part) the container of the vessel. The neck and head are cast hollow, but filled with clay. The eyes and possibly also the beak are decorated with red and black enamel and both body and wing (lid) have a pattern of enamelled patches (blue, black and red) in shape of stylised feathers.
The vessel may have been a container for jewellery or smaller items of value. The remaining fragments are in good condition.
