A cast copper alloy tinned mount, probably for a strap such as a horse harness, dating from the post-medieval period, probably AD 1500 - 1700. The object is circular in plan and conical. The upper surface is decorated with a raised central circular ring encircled by a groove and two concentric circular bands. The reverse of the object is hollow. There are two integral oval-sectioned attachment spikes projecting from the edge of the reverse. Both are broken. There is a white metal coating on the upper face. Compare FAKL-0BA78E, SWYOR-724C7D, BERK-E65C28 and IOW-0874C2.
The diameter is 23.8mm, the thickness is 10.2mm and the weight is 5.1g.
