BROOCH

Unique ID: KENT-3361E5

Object type certainty: Certain
Workflow status: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation

Head and part of bow of a Roman crossbow brooch. The brooch has three large, six-sided knobs, and a triangular-sectioned, hollow-backed bow. There is a worn break just below the junction of the bow and arms. The hinge and part of the pin survive. The large size and form of this brooch suggest a late example of the Crossbow type, probably dating to the 2nd half of the 4th century AD.
