2 Roman body sherd; wheel thrown ceramic vessel. The sherd is a body sherd, of a fabric similar to, or what is known as Severn Valley ware. This type of pottery was produced throughout the Roman Period, in the Severn Valley area, and typically consisted of jars, jugs, flagons, bowls and tankards. The sherds are abraded and worn so there are no visible diagnostic features to precisely date the object.

The smaller sherd:

Has a length of 23.4mm, a width of 22.51mm and a thickness of 6.28mm; it weighs 3.4 grams.

The larger sherd:

Has a length of 25.45mm, a width of 17.47mm and a thickness of 5.63mm; it weighs 2.8 grams.
