An incomplete Late Iron Age to Early Roman copper alloy strip bow brooch, probably dating to c. AD 25-75. Mackreth 2011, Chapter 6, Part 3, DURO 5.c. The head of the brooch has been lost to an old break, with a sub-rectangular bow tapering from 7.8mm wide below the head into a rounded foot. The bow has a slightly concave reverse. The front of the bow is decorated with two longitudinal channels containing a reserved wavy line, one running down either edge of the bow. An incomplete catchplate projects from the reverse, 9.8mm in height.
Dimensions: 54.5mm in length; 7.8mm in width; 3.4g in weight.
