Heavily worn and eroded silver half groat of later Tudor date - the style of the shield and the cross fourchee both indicate a coin of Elizabeth I - although this cannot be confirmed due to wear on the obverse which has removed the whole surface. There is possibly a date above the shield and with the eye of faith this reads 1574.

Obverse: Lost

[/. ]A

Reverse: Square shield over long cross fourchee - date 1574??? Above shield
