An incomplete large flint barbed and tanged arrowhead. Part of one tang is missing and the scar is repatinated or lost and reworked during manufacture. Both faces show covering, low angle, scaled pressure flaking. The tip is rounded but is covered in re-cortification indicating it was made this way. An area of modern damage reveals the flint is opaque, mid orangey brown but is now completely covered in a smooth layer of blue-white mottled re-cortification giving a low-gloss patina. One face show large patches of ferrous iron staining.
Date: Middle Bronze age 1600 BC to 1000 BC.
Dimensions: 35.7 mm x 31.9 mm x 6.15 mm.
Weight: 5.67 g
