Post-Medieval cast copper alloy mount in the form of a flat openwork lozenge. The inner and outer edges are straight but bevelled with a flat front and back. There is a recessed band within which is a line of raised pellets running around all four sides of the frame in the centre of the front. There are traces of gilding on the reverse. There are two integral attachment spikes on the plain back, one near each acute corner. Both are broken and worn with only stubs remaining. The mount is 26.1mm by 17.0mm and 2.9mm thick including the spikes, 2.1mm excluding. It weighs 3.50 grams.
It appears similar to many other decorative mounts of the 17th to possible 18th centuries. In particular SOM-E9B761 and SOM-66143B on this database from Somerset are similar, as is PAS-5B4E02 form Oxfordshire.
