A complete cast copper-alloy trade weight, of Post Medieval date (specifically from AD 1689-1694). The object is circular in form and rectangular in cross section, with a raised square section rim on its front face, and a flat back. The object's weight is 12.4 grams, (0.437 in ounces), suggesting it was a half-ounce weight when in use. Visible within the rim are three verification marks, as well as a central pit, suggesting the use of a lathe in its creation. At 11 o'clock is an imperial crown above the letter 'W', which rests over the letter 'M', suggesting the weight was checked during the reign of William and Mary (1689-1694). At 1 o'clock is the sword of St Paul, signifying it was stamped in the city of London. At 6 o'clock there is also a faintly discernible ewer, stamped on weights produced by the Founder's Company of London after 1614.

Its diameter is 25.5mm, and thickness 3.5mm it weighs 12.4 grams.

This trade weight would have originally been part of a set of weights and bears official marks showing it was made in London and verified by the founders' company allowing it to be used in markets and shops as an official weight (Biggs 1992: 51).
