Copper alloy buckle. Cast single looped or D-shaped buckle frame with an expanded and markedly canted concavo-convex outer edge, and with a narrowed strap bar. Heavily moulded decoration includes twin horizontal ribs set centrally on the outer edge to define a pin rest, and tripartite stepped zoomorphic beast head mouldings at the inner ends of the frame adjacent to the strap bar. Suggested date: Medieval, 1300-1500.
