A Roman bone gaming counter, probably dating 2nd - 4th century AD. This is a Crummy type 1 counter (Kenyon type A). It is round, lathe turned and with bevelled edge. The upper surface is countersunk and has a flat lower surface. There is a central perforation on the top side, a remnant from the lathe.

A similar example can be found in Crummy (1995, 92, nos. 2256), from an archaeological context dating circa AD 150 - AD 250, though they can be found throughout the Roman period with little variation.
