A worked flint axehead of Neolithic date (c. 3500 - c. 2100 BC). The implement has been extensively knapped into a sub-oval cross section, with a tapering plan. It consists of a large terminal with a cutting face. The opposing terminal is broadly round with some cortex remaining on a prominent nodule, possibly indicative of an unfinished implement. The tool exhibits an asymmetric cross section, where one side of the central chord is flatter than the other. The edges have retouch in places. The flint is a mixture of greys, ranging from lighter to darker. All faces exhibit some orange iron staining. Overall, the condition is good with some minor post depositional damage.
