Pale flint knife or bladelet, as kindly suggested by the finder. A long thin straight-sided flake with a point at one end, with long narrow parallel flakes struck from its dorsal surface. The ventral surface is flat with a tiny bulb at its narrower end. A misty patina suggests the object was subsequently exposed to a calcareous environment. Suggested date: Late Mesolithic, 7000-4000 BC.
