ARROWHEAD

Unique ID: NARC-1C7F79

Object type certainty: Certain
Workflow status: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation

An incomplete flint Arrowhead of Bronze Age date (2500-1200 BC). The object is a barbed and tanged form and is sub-triangular in plan and plano-convex in section. The object has two small semi-circular notches removed by pressure flaking, on the proximal edge. The notches create a sub-rectangular tang, projecting between them. Both the left and right hand barbs are missing a portion of the lower edges. The tip along the distal end is missing. The dorsal surface has covering scaled flaking. The ventral surface is predominantly flat with some shallow pressure flaking. The lithic retains no cortex and is therefore a tertiary flake.

The flint is cream in colour with grey inclusions throughout.

Length: 18.99mm, Width: 17.07mm, Thickness: 4.09mm, Weight: 1.0g.
