A crudely cast lead early Medieval spindle whorl, probably dating from AD 500 - 850. It is for Walton Rogers form A1, with one flat face. The whorl is domed and uneven. The central hole has a diameter of 8.2mm.The whorl is 9.6mm tall, 22.8mm diameter, and weighs22.32g. The size of the central hole suggests an early to middle Saxon date, as does the shape of the whorl.
