A complete copper alloy possible finger ring, dating from the Roman to post medieval period c. AD 50 - 1800. The finger ring is formed of a strip of copper alloy that has been curved round, it is oval in shape. It is a rectangular shaped in cross section. The hoop has been bent round at one of the terminals of the ring, so the two terminals don't meet. The outer terminal narrows to a rounded collared knop. The finger ring is worn but has traces of incised lines running down the hoop. There is possibly an circular indentation, but this could also be wear. There is no decoration on the inside of the hoop. The finger ring has a dark green patina, and measures 20.7mm in length, 16.9mm in width, 1.8mm in thickness and weighs 3.32g.
Similar finger rings can be seen in Crummy 1995, page 48.
