A complete lead spindle whorl dating to the Medieval to Post Medieval periods (c. AD 1100 - 1600). The object is bi-convex; circular in plan with a prominent medial rib and a circular central aperture measuring 8.83mm in diameter. The whorl is decorated on both faces with raised lines radiating from the central aperture with a raised pellet in each cell. The whorl is light grey in colour and shows signs of wear.
The overall dimensions are as follows: 26.74mm in diameter, 12.27mm in thickness and 34.45g in weight.
