Flint core, probably Early Neolithic, c 4,000-3,300 BC. The core was struck, using a soft hammer, from a mottled, off-white, opaque flint, It is flat and plate-like and exhibits two striking platforms, at 180 degrees to each other. Both ends of the core are heavily battered with a hackly fracture. It was used to produce blade-like fakes,suggesting an Early Neolithic date, which is supported by associated material. Length 53.4mm, Width 35.1mm, Thickness, 12.4mm, Mass 32.35g
