An incomplete copper alloy Polden Hill brooch of Roman date, c.AD 75 - 175. The head of the brooch comprises tubular wings, the reverse of which are hollow housing the spring/hinge mechanism. The pin and head loop no longer survive.
From the centre of the front of the wings a D-sectioned bow curves out and downwards tapering to a break. The bow does not appear to have been decorated. The foot and catchplate are missing.
