An incomplete cast copper-alloy Iron Age La Tene III style (Nauheim derivative) brooch dating to the first century AD.
Description: The brooch is of one piece construction consisting of the hinge, bow and part of the catch plate. At one end this is twisted to form a bilateral spring of four turns and an internal chord. Only the left two coils remain with the pin and right coils missing. This extends to the circular cross-sectioned bow and, beneath this, a flattened sub-trapezoidal shaped catch plate, which remains intact. The outer (left) side of the catch plate has an incised circle with an upright incised line to the left of it. The entire object has a light grey-brown colour.
