An object of uncertain date and function, possibly a weight. It is an irregular, roughly lozenge shaped piece of dark, non-ferrous metal, probably a copper alloy, All edges are chipped and irregular. It is broadly flat in profile, both surfaces are decorated with three raised concentric circles, the outer of which is double, the lines 1 mm apart. The innermost circle forms a cup with a depressed centre, 3.8 mm diameter. The overall diameter of the pattern is 12.6 mm. On one surface the pattern of circles is deformed, possibly by an impact.
No parallel can be found on this database, although it is interesting to compare record HESH-996972. Biggs and Withers (2000, p 25) describe flat weights decorated with concentric circles, but again no close parallel can be found.
