A complete copper-alloy sestertius of the Roman period from the reign of Maximinus I (AD 235-238), dating to AD 235-6 (Reece Period 11). Mint of Rome. RIC IV, pt 2, p. 145, no. 58. Without an image it is not possible to determine if it is an issue of AD 235 or AD 236.

Obverse description: Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right.

Obverse inscription: IMP MAXIMINVS PIVS AVG

Reverse description: Pax, standing left, holding branch and sceptre

Reverse inscription: PAX AVGVSTI S [C]

The coin is in a fair condition with some wear on both faces and around the circumference. The general patina is of a dark green colouring with some lighter patches, more so on the reverse.
