WW2 silver and enamel RAF sweetheart brooch. The brooch has an eagle and a crown, also the words 'PER ARDVA/AD ASTRA'. Meaning "through adversity to the stars" or "through struggle to the stars", which is the official motto of the Royal Air Force and other Commonwealth air forces. There would have been blue enamel in the circle with the writing, and red enamel in the crown. The brooch weighs 3.2g and the long part of the brooch at the top is 26mm in length, The word silver is also on the reverse of the brooch which indicates the material.
