Silver coin. Voided long cross penny of Henry III (1216-1272), class 3b issue of 1250-1256, moneyer Ricard, possibly London mint - Wren (1993) ascribes this moneyer at London to class 3c though the obverse of the coin in other respects more closely matches his class 3b - hence perhaps a 3b/3c mule.
Obverse description: Facing bust no sceptre, hair of two large neat curls and pellets to either side, round eyes and large lips, beard of two rows of pellets.
