A fragment of a copper alloy bow brooch of Hod Hill type. A Hod Hill type with short side wings. At the head is the remnant of the folded tabs to house the axis bar for a missing hinged pin. There are traces of iron corrosion, probably from the axis bar. The bow is narrowed from the head with a transverse moulded ridge beyond which it expands into a lozengiform plate with remnants of side knops and decorated with vertical grooves. The leg of the bow extends from the lower point of this plate. It is narrowed and has a transverse moulded ridge before tapering a little to the break. The upper part of the bow is a very slightly plano-convex, but the leg is oval in cross section. There are traces of a white metal coating on the front surface of the brooch
