Lead seal matrix. Cast oval or vesica-shaped seal matrix with a moulded fleur de lis, expanded at one end to form a suspension lug. The matrix bears an oval frame with a central incised fleur de lis, surrounding the pointed oval is a slightly blundered inscription which reads S. ADE. FIL'. RADVLFS (Seal of Adam son of Ralph). The legend is partially worn on one side. Suggested date: Medieval, AD 1200-1300.
