A copper alloy book mount. The mount consists of a hollow, sub-circular domed boss with four, roughly equally spaced, irregularly sized, rounded lobes projecting from the edge, each delineated by a raised, transverse collar at the junction with the dome and with a drilled, circular perforation. The front of the boss is decorated with a slightly recessed saltire. The rear is undecorated.

In database record SOM-BC53E4 for a very similar mount, Wil Partridge notes that a Read (2001: 16, no. 118) publishes a similar example, identified as a book fitting of 14th century date and that a comparable book fitting is published by Egan (1998: 280, no. 926), found in a context dating to c. AD 1350-1400. Several others are recorded on the PAS database and WILT-934CC6 is a particularly good parallel.
