A broken flake struck form a Neolithic polished flint axehead, probably dating to c. 4000-1600 BC. The mid-grey flint has patinated to a matt off-white with occasional iron staining. At the proximal end is a small striking platform with a low bulb of percussion on the ventral face. The flake has been snapped off the distal end and there are areas of later damage in several places around the margins. The dorsal face of the flake retains the striations and edge faceting of the original axe. The ventral face is less heavily patinated having a greyer colouration. A post depositional flake near the rounded end of the object which reveals the original mid grey colour of the flint.
