A lead spindle whorl dating from the Post-Medieval period (AD 1500 - 1600). Cast biconvex whorl with a central moulded aperture of diameter 11.06mm. Each side bears moulded decoration. One side has a slightly wandering circumferential rib at about the middle, and a series of 8 radial lines which pass from the rim of the central hole across the medial lines and joining an outer rim where the two halves meet. The other side has a geometric pattern of rhomboid shapes. The edge is damaged on one side. Forman (2018) suggests a primary use plying cord.
