An incomplete silver Maundy fourpence (groat) of the Post Medieval period from the reign of William and Mary (AD1689-1694).

Obverse description:Two wreathed busts right.

Obverse inscription: GVLIEMVS ET MARIA D G.

Reverse description:Large central 4 with crown above.

Reverse inscription:MAG BR FR ET HIB REX ET REGINA. 1691 above.

The coin is pieced at 12 o'clock,the overall condition of the coin is good with minimal wear on both faces.

Notes:

The modification of the coin has been determined to not meet the criteria of the Treasure Act 1996. The coin shows no evidence of gilding or fittings, nor is there evidence that the coin was removed from general circulation. As such, the coin cannot be considered an object of Treasure.
