Gold annular brooch. Cast D-section band with a constriction for a cast tapered pin which is looped around the band. The convex display face bears a finely defined chevron motif, with V-shaped figures with internally indented edges confining strands of closely juxtaposed pellets, possibly in overlapping doubled rows. These were presumably stamped to achieve the fine definition observed here. The chevrons nest one within the next in a series originating and ending at the pin seat. The plain back appears lightly bevelled towards the central aperture. Suggested date: Medieval, 1200-1350
