Heavily worn fragment of a Late Iron Age - Roman Colchester brooch dating to the period c. AD 15 - 65. The head exhibits the stub of a flat rectangular wing projecting from either side and the stub of the integrally cast string mechanism projecting from the centre. The bow tapers back from the head, terminating in a worn break. The lower bow, foot and catchplate are missing.
