Description: The brooch is circular with a projecting circular balancing lug at the top with an orange enamel cell, the border of which is heavily worn. The face of the brooch is divided into three concentric circular sunken fields divided by plain metal bands. Fields act as a champlevé enamel cells, the innermost of which is plain orange. The middle field is decorated with millefiori enamel comprising of a background of discoloured white with random, red, sub-rectangular motifs and black crosses, with yellow at their centres. The outer field has alternating rectangular blocks of cobalt blue and white. The decoration on the lower half of this panel is missing. The reverse of the brooch is plain and the pin and catchplate are missing, remaining only as scars on the reverse. Only the stub of the chain loop survives. There is a small square plug in the centre of the plate on the back, possibly positioned over a piercing through the centre of the brooch. The copper-alloy has a dark green-brown colour.
