A post-medieval lead trade weight. It is circular with a recessed central field surrounded by a thick rim on the front. At the centre, within a double stamped circle, which creates a raised ring, is a castle stamped in low relief, with a letter 'D' on the right hand side, a a possible letter 'B' on the left hand side.

It measures 40 mm in diameter, and weighs 53.4 g- nearly 1/8 lb.

The device used of a castle may relate the weight to Barnstaple, near to its findspot, however the letters B and D are known from later weights from Bideford.

Inscription: (B) - D
