Roman copper alloy trumpet brooch that has an oval head plate surmounted by a truncated loop. On the reverse are two rearward facing perforated lug that would have held the spring support bar, which is now missing. The bow emanates from the front of the head plate this has a central ridge running down the centre flanked by angled sides, there are two sets of low semi-circular projects on each side of the head and a moulded knee below. below the knee the remainder of the bow is truncated.
