A complete flint core of Mesolithic date (10,000 - 4000 BC). The lithic is sub ovate in plan and biconvex in section. The dorsal surface contains multiple negative scars. The left and right hand sides have semi-abrupt retouch. The proximal end has rough short flaking. The distal end is flat with some negative scars and is likely a striking platform. The ventral surface has retained cortex along right hand edge and multiple hinged flaked removals along the left hand edge. The lithic retains a minor amount of cortex and is therefore a secondary flake.
The flint is a light grey in colour with dark grey inclusions throughout. The cortex is cream in colour.
