A complete cast copper-alloy composite strap end dating to the Medieval period, c. 1250-1400. It is composed of three elements: two outer plates and an inner forked spacer with a projecting pointed oval knop at its base. All the latter are secured together by means of two circular-sectioned copper-alloy rivets at the upper edge of the strap end. Its main body demonstrates a concave upper edge with parallel sides that expand outwards to form a circular lower body. Preserved in good condition with heavy traces of white-metal coating visible on its surfaces, it measures 48.05mm in length, 20.45mm wide at the widest point of the circular body by 3.86mm thick at its midpoint, and weighs 10.86g.
