Possible Roman buckle pin in the form of an eagle: The copper alloy pin has an elongated triangle which forms the head of the eagle, and behind the wings are splayed outwards before there is another central protrusion which is curved and forms the hook abound which it is fitted to the strap bar of the buckle. The outer face of the wings is decorated with scrolls towards the edge representing feathers. Across the wings there are dobule-stranded grooves.

The pin has an incomplete dark green patina, otherwise it is abraded.

It measures 32mm long, 25.62mm wide, 7.29mm thick and weighs 3.35g.

The artefact is possible a Roman buckle pin. Appels and Laycock (2007) illustrated buckle pins which are zoomorphic, for example AA12.8 and SL11.3, although they are not in the form of an eagle.
