A cast copper alloy domed thimble dating from the Medieval period, about AD 1400 - 1500. The pits are hand punched in circumferential rows and continue on to the crown. In the centre of the crown is a large, circular depression. The thimble is slightly flattened and in its current configuration is 21.6mm long and 24.2mm. It weighs 7.68g but still has some soil and corrosion in it.
Similar thimbles are illustrated in Read, 2018 Metal Sewing Thimbles Found in Britain, page 29.
