A copper alloy Post Medieval thimble dating from about AD 1500 - 1600. It has a circumferential basal plain band with one groove, and a continuous right hand spiral of oval pits covering the sides and crown. It has fairly straight sides and a shallowly domed top. It is 20.4mm high, 20.2mm diameter at the base and 6.35g. There is a dent in the rim, and it has a light green patina. Compare numbers 124 and 126 on page 35 of Read (2018) Metal Sewing-Thimbles Found in Britain.
