Copper alloy mount. Cast elongated heart-shaped plate with a rounded knop at its wider end. The corroded remnant of an iron fixing pin occupies the top knop, while another drilled fixing hole of diameter 2mm lies at the other end. The plate bears bordered symmetrical curvilinear decoration limited by a cross-ridge at the narrow15mm, Thickness: 1.7mm, Weight: end. The object is bent near the narrow end, presumably by its rough removal. The use of iron fixings and the style of decoration might both be expected on a sword-hanger suite. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1500-1650
