Iron possible barrel padlock fragment. Fragment of a possibly cylindrical object closed at a flanged end, and with a rib at right angles to that end, here taken to be one end of a barrel padlock. Fiercely abraded and corroded. Suggested date: Medieval, 1100-1350

Length: 31.7mm, Diameter: [in excess of] 22.8mm, Thickness (where rib meets plate): 5mm, Weight: 5.73gms
