Copper alloy possible weight fragment. Cast fragment of a plano-convex discoid object, with a straight cut or broken edge, probably representing about one third of an object with an original diameter estimated as c.30mm. Fiercely abraded. The surface appearance closely resembles that of early Roman low denomination coins, and this feature commends an early date. Suggested date: possibly Roman, 43-410
