Copper alloy brooch fragment. Cast bow of a brooch, Colchester derivative, Mackreth type CD RH 4.1, though if so, a small hook is lost to abrasion. A rectangular section bow has a curved hollow at its top for semi-circular wings [lost]. A pair of [now] fine lines passes longitudinally down the bow, which tapers towards a plain foot with the stub of a catch plate behind it. Suggested date: Early Roman, 50-61
