A book fitting/furnishing made of copper alloy. The fitting is rectangular in shape, bent at about a 120 degree angle. At either end is a club-like projection with three circles engraved into them. The front face is engraved. At either end of the rectangle, a horizontal line is engraved going straight across. Six circles are engraved going in a line down the rectangle - each circle has a thin outer circle and a smaller circle in the centre. The last three circles have been corroded and damaged, and so are not entirely visible. A line is engraved vertically either side of the circles. In the bottom right of the rectangle is a hole punched through - likely where the fitting was fastened to the book. On th top right of the rectangle, there is a thing outline of a circle - though it is not punched through. On the reverse face there are no engravings. It is scratched and damaged.
If the fitting was not bent, it would be about 66mm in length.
