Medieval (13th to 14th centuries) harness pendant: the copper alloy pendant is a shield shape with an integral elongated lug protruding from the centre of the upper edge. The lug tip has a perforation which is perpendicular to the pendant. The outer face of the pendant is decorated with a unidentifiable motif within a red enamel field. The reverse of the pendant is undecorated.
The surface is heavily abraded.
The pendant measures 35.87mm in length, 19.52mm in width and weighs 4.64g.
Medieval harness pendant, which were popular between the 12th and 14th centuries.
